Merlot is a widely grown grape in Chile, and on the Errazuriz Estate grows in a Mediterranean climate, with warm summer days and cool evenings-This impressively rich and juicy wine has notes of plum and raspberry, turning to fruity ripe cherry and blackberry on the palate-Hints of oak and spice help the taste to linger.
This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 2 years
Matthew Jukes - Weekend (Daily Mail) 03/03/2012
Of the 2010 vintage, Matthew Jukes said: “This is no mild-mannered merlot – it’s a strident, robust fellow with genuine class and an impressive burst of black fruit. Decant it and serve with macho meaty dishes. It’ll be good to drink for a few years to come too.”
Jane MacQuitty - The Times 19/05/2012
Of the 2010 vintage, Jane MacQuitty said: "Merlot may not be Chile's strongest suit, but this oaky, plummy red bursts with the sort of good, ordinary, yet rich berry fruit flavours that have made sub-£6 reds from this country so popular with British drinkers."
Don Maximiano Errazuriz established Viña Errazuriz in 1870. Today, the tradition of quality lives on with his descendant Eduardo Chadwick, who follows the founder's Maxim 'From the best land, the best wine'.
Abundant sunshine and cool temperate winds from the Pacific combine to make Chile an ideal location for grape growing.
