Tasting Notes

A fabulously fruity red from the Trentino region, in northern Italy.

Here, the Teroldego grape has produced a wine with lots of juicy black cherry and redcurrant fruit, along with a sprinkle of spice at the end.

Begs to be out with a bowl of tomato-sauce drenched pasta.

Expert Opinion

In the press...

Of the 2013 vintage, Brian Elliott said: “Among all the talk about Italian grape varieties, Teroldego is often overlooked, yet it produces excellent red wine. The 2013 vintage was especially good in Trentino, so enjoy the dense cherry and plum fruit this great-value version delivers, embellished as it is by twists of concluding liquorice and mocha, and well judged tannin.”

Brian Elliot - Scotland on Sunday 12/04/2015

Of the 2013 vintage, Jamie Goode said: "Teroldego is the name of the grape variety that's used to make this tasty northern-Italian red. Fresh and distinctive, this has sweet, pure cherry and raspberry fruit with a slight grainy spiciness."

Jamie Goode - S Magazine, Sunday Express 07/06/2015

Of the 2013 vintage, Susy Atkins said: "A deep ruby coloured red with smooth mulberry and milk chocolate flavours. One for pasta, with (or without) a tomatoey sauce."

Susy Atkins - Delicious Magazine 01/07/2015

Of the 2013 vintage, Eileen Leahy said: "Teroldego is probably the oldest grape variety in Trentino, and this wine is a gorgeous deep ruby red colour with sweet, pure cherry and raspberry fruit and a slightly grainy spiciness."

Eileen Leahy - Saturday Magazine, Daily Express 20/06/2015

Of the 2013 vintage, Jane MacQuitty said: “Terrific, bold Teroldego grape, gem from northern Italy, with plenty of rich, earthy, black cherry and creosote stashed, barbecued sausage-friendly fruit.”

Jane MacQuitty - The Times 01/08/2015

Of the 2013 vintage, Jamie Goode said: “Very pure, sweet cherry and raspberry fruit is the key to this northern Italian red, which has focus and a slightly grainy structure. It’s so easy to drink.”

Jamie Goode - S Magazine, Sunday Express 09/08/2015
