Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
From the slightly cooler Rioja Alta region in Spain, this is a beautifully crafted mature wine made soley from the Tempranillo grape by Baron de Ley.
With sweet dark cherry fruit and a seductively soft oaky character, this is marvellously mellow.
Sip fireside, or enjoy with slow roasted red meats.
This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 3 years

The Wine Gang - thewinegang.com 01/01/2013
Aged for two years in oak barrels, this is an approachably mature, pure Tempranillo from the reliable Baron de Ley stable in Rioja Alta, displaying attractive, sweet cherry qualities on the nose with supple-textured tannins, a raspberryish, savoury fruit juiciness and a slightly rustic, dry aftertaste.
Made especially for Tesco by Criadores
The vines are situated in the Rioja Alta region, with a Mediterranean climate and clear Atlantic influence. The soil type in Rioja Alta is Alluvial, rich in clays and limestone.
