What our expert says
Freixenet is one of the most important Cava houses in the whole of Spain, and is still based around the original family estate founded in the 13th century. These two new vintage sparklers have been made especially for us and are simply stunning.
Background
History
Freixenet, the leading producer and exporter of traditional method Cavas in the world, was born from humble beginnings: the union of two families, both with a long winemaking tradition. Pedro Ferrer Bosch and his wife Dolores Sala Vivé established Freixenet in Sant Sadurni d’Anoia, near Barcelona, back in 1861. Their tenacity, innovation and winemaking expertise gave Freixenet an excellent foundation; today Freixenet remains family run, and is renowned worldwide for its traditional method Cavas.

Find this a great alternative for the summer to champagne, it has a very dry quality feel and find it goes extremely well with BBQs and other casual occasions. If you like a quality fizz at a fraction of champagne price then this is for you.
