History

Cantine Maschio was established in 1904 as a distillery by Antonio Maschio in the village of Conegliano, near Treviso. The particular devotion of this area to Prosecco grape variety pushed Antonio's grandchild Bonaventura to found in 1973 the winery Casa Maschio and to focus the production on Prosecco Spumante DOC. The production zone is the hillside of the Province of Treviso stretching from the Dolomites to the Adriatic sea whose positive effect influences its climate and countryside. In this area we have approximately 18,000 hectares (45,000 acres) of cultivated land even if vines grow on the hills' south-facing slopes only at an altitude of 50 - 500 metres (approx. 165 - 1650 ft.) above sea level.
