In 1963, 160 winegrowers came together to form the Cave des Vins de Sancerre. Their desire is to continue the traditions of quality and taste that have made Sancerre wines, especially the whites, among the most well-known and loved of all French wines.
The vineyards of Sancerre spread across 15 villages, their soil is largely chalky and stony. Combined with the cool climate, this makes them an ideal environment for growing the Sauvignon Blanc grape.
