Blason was developed in 2002 as a means of making the somewhat bewildering world of Burgundy wines more accessible to consumers. This Pouilly Fuissé was produced by the Caves de Prisse which has 352 members in Southern Maconnais. The winery employs a team of oenologists who work in conjunction with the growers in the vineyards. If growers comply with advice they are able to earn up to +30% extra on the price of their grapes, so effectively they are incentivised in order to maximise grape quality.
The South facing vineyards of Pouilly Fuisse, in the South of the Burgundy region, give these Chardonnay grapes optimum ripeness and intensity, and the complex limestone soils help to develop long apricot, tropical and spice flavours.
