Tesco Staff
We have received several comments from customers commenting on the quality of our staff. For example:
"I feel Tesco provide an amazing service to the general public. Your in store staff completely outshine your main rivals and competitors."
"Individual members of staff are stars."
We know that Tesco cannot be a success unless our people are doing everything they can for customers. Our people work very hard to satisfy the needs of our customers and we appreciate hearing your feedback when we do a great job.
We know that we don’t always get things right for customers and we have received comments from some who on occasion feel that we could do better. It is just as important to us to hear about these incidents so that we can work to find a solution and improve the way we serve every customer, in every store, every day.
We can assure you that when we receive such feedback it passed on to the store in question so that they can investigate the situation. In many cases this leads to retraining of individual members of staff on a one-to-one basis to help them understand how to better satisfy the needs of the customer.
We have also received emails from members of staff explaining in their view, what makes Tesco a success:
"Tesco is one of the UK's major employers, a result of it's success is that it has employed many people across the length and breadth of the UK, the company has provided first class training and developed countless people into bigger, more prosperous roles, a result of it's policy to develop from within."
It is important to us that Tesco is a great place to work and that our staff are given the training and opportunity to get on. We have training schemes for every career stage and more than 80% of our management roles are filled internally.
"The company has given me a career, rising from a general assistant working during the Christmas rush to a Personnel Manager, and there is still a great deal which I can do if I so wish."
