Our aim is to make everyone welcome at Tesco and we are working hard to make your shopping experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Our staff are trained to respect and respond to the needs of our customers and to promote "Every Little Helps" at all times. We are pleased to offer assisted shops in our stores and delighted to be sponsoring the Employers Forum on Disability new Guide to "Welcoming Disabled Customers".
Our stores are designed to be as wheelchair friendly as possible with wide aisles and checkouts, ramps, automatic doors and wheelchair friendly lifts and travellators. Where we are limited in the changes we can make because of planning restrictions we make every effort to develop individual solutions.
All of our car parks have designated spaces for disabled customers. All stores are equipped with standard wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs are available in 300 of our stores. Our Customer Service desks and Petrol Filling Stations are fitted with Induction loops for our hearing impaired customers.
Our home shopping service is a convenient and easy way to shop from home, and is available to 95% of the population, visit www.tesco.com for more information.
We have also developed our access website, www.tesco.com/access, for those who are visually-impaired, who may use access technologies such as a voice screen reader, or who wish to override the default font sizes and page colours so it is easier to read. This was voted by AbilityNet, the UK computing and disability charity, as the only supermarket to have a website meeting the basic accessibility needs of disabled people.
We welcome your feedback; please let one of our stores colleagues know if you have any questions or suggestions.
