We develop our site to work as quickly as possible with all computers and browsers, and regularly make improvements to how it works to speed it up. However, three important factors that can affect your shopping experience on Tesco.com are your web browser; your Internet speed; and navigating the site efficiently. This page will walk you through the main things that you can do to get the most out of shopping on Tesco.com
Update your browser
Using an up to date browser can dramatically improve the time it takes to do your online shopping. For existing Internet Explorer users, our tests show that Internet Explorer 9 will provide a faster browsing experience than previous versions. However, if you are still not satisfied with the speed, we recommend you try Mozilla Firefox, which our tests show leads to a faster shopping trip on our grocery website. Firefox is also compatible with older Operating Systems, such as Windows XP, and compatible with Mac OSX.
Upgrade to Mozilla Firefox
Updating your browser lets you take advantage of all of the improvements we make to the site, as well as providing the safest environment in which to shop. The latest generation of browsers not only improve both security and speed but they also make visiting your favourite websites a much more enjoyable experience.
Your Internet Service Provider
We recommend a minimum broadband speed of 2mbps to get the best experience from our website. If you find still browsing our site is slow, you may find this is due to a problem with your Internet connection not being as fast as it should be. Bandwidth tests provide an easy way to check this and are available from websites such as www.speedtest.net. They provide a good way of finding out if you are having intermittent problems or not receiving your maximum speed from your Internet Service Provider.
For more information and to address any connection issues, we recommend contacting your Internet Service Provider directly.
Navigating the groceries site
There are a few ways of using our grocery site that our customers find useful in helping them do a speedy shop. We think these features will not only save you time but give you a more enjoyable grocery shopping experience on Tesco.com
-
My Usuals
'My Usuals' lets you see a list of the top 50 items you've recently bought so you can easily add them to your basket in as little as two clicks.
-
Multisearch
It's as easy as writing a shopping list. Simply type all the items you want on different lines of the Multisearch notepad, click on the 'Go' button and we'll show you all the products we have relating to the first item on your list. Click on the next item to see the next set of results.
-
Book a slot before you shop
We recommend that you book a time for delivery before you start shopping to avoid disappointment and save you time at checkout. This slot will be reserved for up to 2 hours, giving you plenty of time to do your weekly shop.
-
Favourites
You'll find a list of items that you have bought previously on the Favourites page. Think of it as your own personal shop; it's a convenient place to start shopping for the products that you like to buy. First time shopping online? If you enter your Tesco Clubcard into the 'My Account' section of the site, you will also see items that you have bought in store.
