Cancer Research UK's Race for Life 2012
We are delighted to be involved in Race for Life for the 11th year running.
With over 240 events around the country, Race for Life is the biggest women-only fundraising even in the UK. Participants can choose to walk, jog or run 5k to help beat cancer.
Someone is told that they have cancer every 2 minutes in the UK, but thanks to the incredible work of Cancer Research UK and Race for Life, more of them will survive.
We hope that over 20,000 of our staff will take part again this year.
Please visit www.raceforlife.org to join them at the start line and help beat cancer.

What's new
In addition to our involvement with Race for Life, we have selected Cancer Research UK as our Charity of the Year from March 2012.
Together we aim to raise £10million and with your help, Tesco's support of Cancer Research UK will help the charity to achieve its goal of diagnosing more cancers at an early stage where successful treatment is more likely – so that many more lives can be saved and more families kept together.
Funds raised will go towards:
- Supporting the funding of up to 100 early diagnosis research projects in local communities across the UK.
- Supporting a new awareness campaign that aims to reduce people's anxiety about the disease and encourage them to visit the doctor with any possible concerns. People fear cancer more than any other disease but the earlier cancer is diagnosed, the better the chance of survival.
