Using an E top-up card

As well as using it in any Tesco store, you can top-up in over 100,000 places in the UK - in fact, anywhere you see the Tesco Mobile and top-up logos.

Here's how it works:

Take your card out of the back of your welcome booklet.
Sign in to My Tesco Mobile click here (or call 282 free from your Tesco Mobile phone).
Hand over the card in store and pay for your top-up - £10, £15, £20, £25, £30, £35, £40, £45 or £50.
The store swipes your card and the top-up is automatically credited to your phone. That's it!

Remember, you'll earn 3 Clubcard Points for every £1 you spend if you top-up in a Tesco store.

REMEMBER: If you have a Value Tariff you cannot E top-up.

Using top-up vouchers and E-Vouchers

Some other stores also sell top-up vouchers (which have a code printed on them) and E-vouchers (which are printed like a receipt). To load the credit onto your phone all you need to do is call us free on 4444 (quick key#3) or 0845 940 0000 and either enter the code that's printed on the top-up voucher or follow the instructions for the E-voucher.

Over the phone with a credit and debit card

Just call us free on 4444 from your Tesco Mobile or dial 0845 940 0000 from a landline and enter your card details.

Make sure you have your credit or debit card handy, then simply follow the instructions.
It's completely secure and we accept Mastercard, Delta, Visa and Maestro cards.
You can buy anything from £10 - £30 worth of calltime in sums of £1.
Once you've paid for your calltime, you'll hear a message telling you 'The top-up has been successful'.
The maximum amount you can top-up your mobile with your credit/debit card is £120 every 30 days. In addition there is a £ 30 limit per 24 hours. If you have already topped up to this level with a credit/debit card then you can use one of our other top-up methods such as E top-up, ATM top-up or vouchers. Remember if you top-up in a Tesco store you can collect Triple Clubcard Points for every top-up with Tesco, when you have registered your Tesco mobile number to your Clubcard. If you are topping-up with a Mastercard for the very first time, the maximum amount you can top-up within the first 30 days of use is £30. After your first 30 days of use, you can use your Mastercard to top-up upto £120 within every subsequent 30-day period as usual. In addition for your protection there are limits on the number of mobiles you can top-up with one credit/debit card and also the number of credit/debit cards you can use to top-up the same mobile.

Using an ATM cash machine

Top-up your phone while you're topping up on cash. Just look out for the Tesco Mobile and top-up logos and follow the instructions on screens.

Here's how it works:

Enter your bank debit card and PIN.
Select 'Mobile Top-Up' from the on-screen options.
Select 'Tesco Mobile'.
Choose your top-up amount (£10, £15, £20, £30, £40, £50).
Enter your mobile phone number. You'll be asked to enter this twice to ensure the correct phone is topped up.

You will see a top-up successful message on the ATM cash machine screen and then receive a confirmation receipt for your records. Your top-up will be paid directly from your bank account and counts against your daily withdrawal limit. To check your calltime balance dial *#10# from your handset.

You can top-up your mobile at over 30,000 participating ATM cash machines if your card issuer has joined the service.

REMEMBER: If you have a Value Tariff you cannot top-up at an ATM cash machine.

All top-up services are subject to availability.
Credit and debit cards used for top-up must be issued in the UK.
Credit and debit card top-ups are limited to a minimum of £10 and maximum of £30 in £1 increments for each transaction.
ATM top-ups are limited to the daily withdrawal limit set by your bank.

VAT Price changes with Tesco Mobile top-up on our Pay as you go tariff

Tesco Mobile is committed to passing on the full benefit of the recent VAT reduction of 2.5% to you. We're giving extra credit on all top-ups. So, for example, when you top-up £10 you'll receive £10.22 in credit, which is equivalent to the VAT reduction of 2.5%. Tesco Mobile is committed to passing on the full benefit of the recent VAT reduction of 2.5% to you.

As of 1st January 2010 the VAT rate in the UK moves back to 17.5%, from 15%.
