From 25th February 2008, Tesco stores will no longer accept personal cheques. Removing this form of payment will speed up service at the checkout and help prevent cheque fraud which affects both customers and retailers.
After this date you can pay by cash, debit card or credit card.
The use of cheques is widely seen as the most insecure form of payment. A card with a Chip and PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a more secure way to pay. If you do not have one of these cards or do not know your PIN, your bank should be able to help.
Business cheques authorised by Transax will continue to be accepted, but at the Customer Service Desk and Petrol Filling Station only.
