If you haven't got bikes - hire them! There are plenty around, just check out your local amenities. Then pack up sarnies and plenty of fluids and head for the hills, or forest or canal or anywhere traffic free where you can enjoy the splendours of mother nature.

Back to nature.

Check out the low-cost nature trails and exercise clubs offered by your local park. It's a great way to get out and meet your neighbours and you might even learn something.

Let The Games Begin.

How about a 5-a-side football tournament with your kids' friends and their mums and dads? You could create your own football league. Or rounders league. Or volleyball league.

Dig it.

Plant the seeds of fun in your kids by getting out in the garden with them. Whether you've a window box or a big garden, plant some flowers and veg and they'll have a great time watching things grow.
