Dog Advice - Puppy Health
Puppies have very different nutritional requirements from those of an adult dog. Puppy products are specifically designed to provide your puppy with the higher amounts of energy, protein, calcium, phosphorus and all of the nutrients they need for healthy growth. Feeding puppies an incomplete diet can cause dull, dry coats, flaky skin and poor growth.
Different sized puppies grow at different rates. Small breeds should be fed puppy food until they are nine months. Large breeds (eg. Labrador) should be fed puppy food until they are 18 months. Giant breeds (eg. Newfoundland) should be fed puppy food until they are 24 months. Puppies have small stomachs and so they need several small meals a day.
