Cat Advice - Going outside
It is best to keep a new cat indoors for the first three weeks. This helps her to become familiar with her new home. After three weeks you can start to allow her to go outside with you, if she wants to, for short periods of 10 to 15 minutes. Keep the door open so she has easy access back to the safety of the house. Make this a fun time for them by playing and giving treats. You can then build periods outside gradually over time. Use treats to encourage your cat back into the house after short sessions outside.
If you have a kitten you should not let her outside until she is fully vaccinated.
