Guideline Daily Amount Summary
A typical steak fried then trimmed of fat contains
Load up a hot sandwich or try a healthy stir fry by shallow frying our thin
beef steak, matured for at least 21 days to ensure the best flavour and
tenderness. Now cut thinner for added tenderness, this excellent value, lean
steak serves 4 6 people and comes from prime cattle raised on farms recognised
by national quality assurance schemes in Britain and Ireland. Standards of
quality, animal husbandry and welfare are also informed by the Tesco Livestock
Code of Practice.
Shallow fry: 2-5 mins
Remove steak from all packaging.
Allow steak to rest for 10 minutes at room temperature before cooking.
Rub or brush steak with a little oil and season with salt and pepper.
Heat a heavy based frying pan over high heat for 2-3 minutes until smoking.
Place steak in the dry pan and cook over a high heat for 1 minute each side.
For a rare steak remove from the pan.
Reduce heat to medium and continue to cook for a future 1 minute (medium) or
2-3 minutes (well done), turning once.
Allow steak to rest for 3 minutes before serving.
Not suitable for microwave cooking.Not suitable for cooking from frozen.All appliances vary these are guidelines only.If cooked rare there is a small risk that harmful bacteria may be present.Tesco recommend that all meat products are cooked thoroughly.

Ideally freeze as soon as possible after purchase but always by 'use by' date
Use within 1 month

This meat is vacuum-packed, allowing it to mature for longer. Remove packaging
and its dark colouring will return to a brighter red.
Add to defrost section:
Once defrosted, do not refreeze.
Follow the preparation guidelines opposite.
Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 12 hours in the refrigerator.
