Vinification Details:

The grapes were batch and continuous pressed before being fermented with both indigenous and cultured yeast. The wine benefited from French and American oak influence during fermentation and maturation.

History:

Wine selected from vineyards across Langhorne Creek, Riverland, Sunraysia and McLaren Vale. Paul Lapsley began his winemaking career at the Arrowfield Winery in the Hunter Valley then in 1986, after graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Wine Science, Paul spent six months at Yalumba Winery in the Barossa Valley. He then spent three months touring the major regions of France. After a stint in the Hunter Valley at Rosemount, he was appointed winemaker at Houghton Wines in Western Australia.

Regional Information:

A long growing season consisting of warm mild days. Our spread of vineyards across the Langhorne Creek, Riverland, Sunraysia and McLaren Vale areas enjoyed this weather helping to produce grapes which showed dense colour, flavours and fine soft tannins.
