Smooth & nutty
Yu Qianchen was a man who believed in doing things differently...
And we're glad he did. In a bid to win his father's pride, he travelled to Fujian Province in China to learn the great secret of making black tea.
Returning home with this treasured knowledge, he worked his magic on the local tea bushes and Keemun was born; soon it was known as 'the king of black teas' due to its unique, velvety taste and subtle, nutty aroma
If you like your tea delicate but full of flavour, we think you'll also like Twinings Darjeeling and Twinings Ceylon.

The journey from the tea garden to your cup...
When it comes to tea we're a little different from everybody else. The way we buy and blend is unique; we choose from more origins than anyone else and have a master blender dedicated to each of these locations. What they don't know about their tea gardens and where to find the best quality, isn't worth knowing. It is said that 7 is a lucky number, for us it's the number of times the master blenders taste each batch to make sure that the quality from its exotic origin reaches your cup.
Nestled Between the Huangshan mountain range and Yangtze river are the rolling hillsides of Keemun Country. This landscape creates a warm, moist climate of swirling mist and gentle showers perfect for producing lush leaves that create the best tasting tea. Our master blenders buy more Chinese tea then anyone in the UK and this gives them the expert knowledge of the north to south movement of the growing seasons in Keemun. They always choose quality flushes, plucked at just the right time in the season, to bring you a fresher tasting tea.
