Shiraz. Wine of Origin Swartland. Wine of South Africa.
Wonderfully spicy wine pakced with dark cherry and bramble fruits, a hint of vanilla and smooth, elegant style. Serve with barbecued Cumberland sausages, roast lamb or spicy Indian dishes. Blended by renowned and dynamic winemaker, Adi Badenhorst, in Swartland, from selected parcels of Shiraz grapes. Store in cool, dark place. Once open drink within 2 days.

This modern South African Shiraz comes from the up and coming Swartland region on the West Coast and is made by dynamic winemaker Adi Badenhorst. The wine has classic white pepper aromas on the nose and has ripe, rich blackcurrant and plum flavours on the palate. The finish is soft and long with hints of spice and sweet vanilla oak.

The grapes are entirely hand-harvested., gently destalked and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Prefermentation maceration 3 days @10C. Standard maceration at <30C until dry. The wine is fermented with French oak staves 1G/L. Bentonite is used for fining and the wine is Kieselguhr filtered and cold stabilised.
The hutton & clay soil and coastal climate provide perfect conditions for the 13yr old vines. The grapes are entirely hand-harvested in mid march.
