Vinification Details
Great care and gentle handling of the grapes throughout the winemaking process ensures that the vibrant and pure fruity character that Australian wine is famous for is captured in this wine and creates an easy drinking style. 100% of this Cabernet Shiraz Merlot wine was oaked, using American Oak Chips and was aged in stainless steel tanks.
History
Buronga Hill in the Sunraysia district of southern NSW is one of the largest wineries in Australia, offering a 135,000 tonne capacity. Using the latest technology, this batch processing plant is renowned for its commitment to efficient and ‘enviro-friendly’ winemaking.
Regional Information
South-Eastern Australia, rather than being a wine region in the standard sense, is officially classified as a viticultural 'super zone'. It covers the entire south-eastern third of Australia, a vast area whose western boundary measures some 1250 miles (2000 km) and reaches from the Pacific coast in Queensland to the Indian Ocean coast in South Australia. Between these two oceans the Australian continent offers up dry riverbeds, rainforest, mountain ranges, endless scrubland, red deserts and eventually the cooler wine-growing valleys of the south coast.
