Vinification Details
The Garnacha grapes were hand harvested from our best vineyards in the early hours of the morning in order to retain freshness and fruit flavours. Following the harvest the grapes were fermented at controlled temperatures in order to extract colour and aromas.
History
The legend of Marques the Carano says that people who lived on its lands seemed to have a youth elixir, with good environmental conditions for the inhabitants. During these times people of the whole region used to drink the wines produced on the Carano properties to get energy an vitality, the also used to drink it mixed with coffee, lemon and sugar to get over from a flu or to reduce the fever. Cariñena is a famous region producing excellent wines due to its climate conditions.
Regional Information
Cariñena is one of the oldest appellations in Spain designated in 1932. Located in the heart of the Ebro river valley and characterized by an enduring wind called “Cierzo”, Cariñena benefits from a continental climate combined with different level of altitudes which are the excellent attributes for vine growing.
