Vinification Details:

The grapes are de-stemmed and crushed followed by a cold maceration.  Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature inferior to 28º C . Winemaker Antonina Barbosa has a Master in oenology, and has been Falua's winemaker for the last years and her wines have won many awards.

João Portugal Ramos is strongly linked to Portuguese wines: first as a consultant oenologist, and since 1992, as a producer. After striking success in the Alentejo, João extended to other regions and today the company produces wines in all of the Portuguese most important wine regions including the Douro region which is renowned for its spectacular red wines.

Regional Information:

Made with specially selected grapes grown on the steep banks of the Douro river in northern Portugal. The Douro region is home to Port production, but in more recent years has been producing top quality table wines, and gained a worldwide reputation for it's wines. Typically they are full bodied, with with elegance and freshness which is gained through the granite and limestone schist soils on which the vines are planted.
