Small batch fermented in open top fermenters. Hand plunged. Partial barrel aged (approx 25%) in small French oak barrels, aged on lees for texture with gentle handling. Bottling 20 months after harvest.
Sacred Hill is a family owned winery based in the Hawkes Bay but with vineyards in Marlborough and Central Otago. This wine comes from two vineyard sites in the prime Bannockburn and Lowburn sub regions. Jenny Dobson is the red winemaker at Sacred Hill with specific responsibility for Pinot Noir. Jenny was previously head winemaker at the Gimblett Gravels winery Te Awa for 12 years. She started her winemaking at Domaine Dujac in Burgundy, then with Stephen Spurrier in Paris, then Ch Senejac in Bordeaux, and Western Australia before heading home to New Zealand. Crafted exclusively for Tesco.
Made from the Pinot Noir grape, from the vineyards of the world renowned Central Otago region in the South Island of New Zealand.
Store: In a cool, dark place. This wine can be enjoyed now or carefully stored for up to 3 years from purchase. Once open drink within 2 days.
