Our unoaked Chardonnay is an intense, crisp and vibrant wine with a greenish-yellow colour and a very expressive nose. Flavours of guava, mango and passion fruit highlight its tropical fruit and citrus qualities.

The grapes for our Chardonnay Unoaked were harvested in the first two weeks of April and then taken to the winery, where 60% were pressed whole-cluster to enhance elegance. All the juice was then fermented in stainless steel tanks at 13–16°C (55°–61°F), and 2% of the final blend was fermented with selected wild yeasts to enhance complexity. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was left in contact with the lees to develop texture on the palate.
Don Maximiano Errázuriz founded Viña Errázuriz in 1870 in the Valle de Aconcagua, 100 kms north of the capital city, Santiago. Recognizing that this valley, with its cool, rainy winters, hot, dry summers and moist Pacific Ocean breezes, was ideal for growing grapes, Don Maximiano sent for the finest clones from France and with tenacity and perseverance transformed this barren land into a world-class vineyard. Today, the tradition of quality lives on with Don Maximiano’s descendant, Eduardo Chadwick.
The La Escultura vineyard is located in the Casablanca Valley, just 32 kilometres (20 miles) from the Pacific Ocean, enjoying a climate with a strong coastal influence that moderates temperatures throughout the year to favour good vineyard development. Cool maritime breezes encourage the grapes to ripen slowly and gradually, which preserves aromas and flavours and leads to very enjoyable levels of acidity. These conditions make the Casablanca Valley a privileged place for growing cold climate varieties.
