Preparation and Usage:
Nestlé Cerelac is a complementary food. Not to be used as a breast-milk substitute.
Nestlé Cerelac is intended for spoon feeding.
Be mindful not to overfeed when your baby shows signs of being full, e.g. turning his head away.
Always wash your hands before preparing your baby's feed. Make sure all utensils are clean.
At the start of weaning use small quantities of Nestlé Cerelac. Start with 1 heaped teaspoon (5g) of Nestlé Cerelac powder mixed with 1 tablespoon (15ml) of pre-boiled, lukewarm drinking water.
As your baby gets older and weaning progresses, gradually increase the amount according to your baby's appetite and stage of development, working up to 50g of Nestlé Cerelac powder mixed with 150ml of pre-boiled, lukewarm drinking water, in order to get the full nutritional benefits.
Always test the temperature before serving it to your baby/toddler. Use immediately. Throw away unfinished potion.
The Department of Health recommends exclusive breast-feeding for the first 6 months. Unless otherwise advised by your health care professional, solid foods should not be given before 4 months, and not delayed beyond 6 months. For the health of your baby, all preparation instructions should be followed exactly.
