The story of Welch's dates back to 1869. "Dr. Welch's Unfermented Wine" was named after our founder Dr. Thomas Welch, a dentist who originally hailed from the town of Glastonbury in England.
It was after emigrating to the USA that Dr. Welch created his non alcoholic altar wine for fellow New Jersey church parishioners.
Since those early days, we have become the world's leading producer of the famous Welch's 100% Purple Grape Juice and both purple and white grape juice drinks. Our juice beverages have been enjoyed by families for over 140 years and we continue to use our grape expertise to blend our juices for exceptional flavour.
