Instructions:Allow approximately 75g per person.
It is not necessary to pre-cook the lasagne sheets as they can be used straight
from the packet. However if you prefer to cook the lasagne sheets use the
following method.
Add the pasta to a large pan of boiling, slightly salted water, stir and return
to the boil.
Cook for 10 minutes, drain well and serve immediately in your favourite recipe.

Lasagne Al Forno

Preparation: 35 minutes
Cooking 30-35 minutes

Meat Sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
60g Italian pancetta cubes
1 onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 stick celery, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
500g lean steak mince
150ml red wine
4 tbsp tomato puree
400g canned, chopped tomatoes
1 tsp dried oregano
Freshly ground black pepper

Bechamel Style Sauce
50g butter
50g plain flour
500ml milk
Grated nutmeg
Freshly ground black pepper
6-8 lasagne sheets
4 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated

1. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C /Fan 200°C/Gas Mark 6.
2. Heat the oil in a heavy-based saucepan and add the pancetta, frying for a
few minutes until it has begun to crisp up and release some of its fat.
3. Add the onion, carrot, celery and garlic and cook for about 5 minutes, until
the onion is soft. Add the steak mince to the pan, mix until well combined,
then fry until browned, breaking up any lumps with a wooden spoon.
4. Stir in the remaining meat sauce ingredients, bring to the boil, cover and
simmer for 25-30 minutes.
5. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the flour mixing well. Gradually stir
in the milk, bringing the temperature up to a simmering point, whisking
continuously until the sauce has thickened. Add the nutmeg and black pepper to
