Charge your car while you shop

Our latest green initiative is the trial of electric car charging points at three of our London stores...

We're all looking for ways to help our customers reduce their carbon footprint and one way is to swap current petrol/diesel cars for an electric ones. An assessment has shown that electric cars use 30 to 40 per cent less carbon than a standard car... But surely with electric cars comes the need to charge them - a bit like a mobile phone - and how do you that and where?

Electric car charging points have been installed at three of our London stores - Kensington, Bromley-by-Bow and Kennington - offering customers the opportunity to charge their electric car for free. There are also charging points at Tesco head office sites.

If the trial is successful, the service will become available in more stores nationwide.
