Local products in your area
Ever wondered which products stocked in your local Tesco store come from your region? You can find out by simply visiting the 'local sourcing' section on Tesco Real Food and search your local area.
We stock approximately 3,000 local lines in our UK stores and aim to increase the sales of local products to £1bn by 2011.
In May 2007, we launched localchoice milk – milk that is sourced in or near your local county, across England, Scotland and Wales.
Localchoice milk is sourced from smaller, family-run farms. We pay our localchoice farmers more for the milk they supply, over and above the high rate we pay farmers who supply standard milk, and one of the highest prices paid to producers in the country. So by paying a little bit more for localchoice milk, you are helping to support your farming community.
There’s no place like home. Which is why we’re committed to sharing knowledge and improving communication in our supply chain. Our aim is to help local farmers and producers understand exactly what our customers are looking for.

We’re committed to providing you with the best local produce available. And one of the ways that we are able to do this is by setting up local Tesco roadshows.
These provide the perfect opportunity for small, local suppliers to meet with, and talk, to our buyers and technical team. If their products are right for our customers, and are safe and legal for us to sell, then we make every effort to stock them.
Our first roadshow took place in Padstow, Cornwall, in September 2006 – and as a result we added over 50 new Cornish lines to our range. We’ve also hosted roadshows in the Isle of Wight, Carmarthen in Wales, and most recently in Surrey.
