How we are helping

Since 1992 we’ve been helping to support children’s learning with Computers for Schools. We recently made Computers for Schools greener, helping schools invest in the latest eco friendly technology – and plant trees along the way!

Please note, the 2008 Computers for Schools scheme is now closed, but look out for details of our new scheme starting in Spring 2009.

Greener Computers for Schools
Over the last 17 years Tesco Computers for Schools has given approximately £118 million worth of equipment to schools including just under 62,000 state-of-the-art computers.

Recycle and collect vouchers
As well as collecting one Computers for Schools voucher every time you spend £10 at Tesco, as part of the scheme you can also collect additional vouchers for your school when you recycle mobile phones and inkjet cartridges.

Greener computers
In 2008, we featured a wider range of green products in the scheme, including the RM ecoquiet PC which uses two-thirds less power than a standard PC. In addition to this, for every RM ecoquiet PC ordered, Tesco and RM donated £5 to The Woodland Trust – enough to plant a tree.
