Husband and wife team Gary and Catherine Grant founded The Entertainer in 1981 when they opened a local toy shop in Amersham, Buckinghamshire.
Fast forward to today and The Entertainer is the biggest independent toy retailer in the UK and growing at an average of one new store per month.
Gary is still heading up The Entertainer team, but it's grown considerably since the early days.More than 900 people work in our stores and a further 100 are based at our head office in Amersham.
At Christmas the team swells to over 1,000, with an additional 700 Christmas Crew recruited for our busiest time of year.
Charity - The Entertainer tithes its profits via its charitable wing, The Grant Foundation, which makes donations to several children's charities. We also have an industry-leading payroll giving scheme with over 500 of our employees giving money to charity direct from their monthly pay.
Sunday trading - You won't find any of our stores open on Sundays. Our teams work extremely hard all week, so Sundays are reserved as a day to relax and spend time with friends and family.
Ethics - We only sell toys we believe have real play value, represent good value for money and are suitable for the children they're made for.

Please be aware that charges and timings will vary for delivery to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly, Orkney, Shetland and other Scottish islands with deliveries taking up to 8 days for outlying areas. The actual delivery cost and timings will be displayed during checkout.
All our orders are sent on a tracked service with various couriers depending on the size and weight of the order

We can deliver to any UK address.
Requirements to sign for delivery
Courier drivers will require a signature to deliver, however may leave with a direct neighbour if you are out.
If you miss a delivery, and the driver is unable to leave with a neighbour, you will have been left a card to contact the nearest courier depot to arrange re-delivery.

That’s no problem. All of our Tesco Partners offer the same Tesco direct policy as a minimum, the full details of which can be found on our Returns Policy page.
Charges for returns
If an item is returned as unwanted, the customer will be expected to pay for the cost to return the item. The original postage cost of the order will not be refunded.
Most of our items can be returned by post. Occassionally there may be items that cannot, in these cases there may be an estimared cost of £5-£10 for smaller items and £10-£30 for larger items. In these instances our customer service team can advise and discuss the best way to get the product returned.
Please let us have any original packaging, tabs, labels and accessories, and please package it all securely. If you’re returning an item because you’ve changed your mind, there may be a deduction from your refund if it has been damaged, opened more than necessary to check it’s working, or used more than reasonably expected.

Is your purchase faulty or damaged?
We do our best to make sure everything works perfectly, but if it doesn’t, please contact us. Within the first 30 days we will issue a refund or replacement item to you. Outside of the first 30 days we will be able to advise on the options to repair, replace or refund your item.
