Mario Party makes its debut on the Wii, complete with an innovative new control system.
MC Ballyhoo and his talking hat, Big Top, invite Mario and the rest of the cast to the Star Carnival, which provides the perfect setting for Mario Party 8. As with the previous titles in the series, Mario Party 8 takes the traditional board game and turns it upside down with a number of fun mini-games.
For newcomers, Mario Party titles are board games where up to four players compete by rolling dice and moving around the board, while trying to collect the most number of stars. Along the way players can obtain ‘candy’, which are power-ups that can change the course of the game. Mini-games take place at least once per turn and Mario Party 8 sees the introduction of all new mini-games that take advantage of the Wii Remote. Containing 14 different characters and six party boards, each with their own theme, players can participate in a variety of modes, including team matches. The Extras Zone allows users to take control of their created Mii characters in a series of games.
The perfect multiplayer game, Mario Party 8 will have Wii users screaming at their televisions in excitement.
