Synopsis

In 1930s Depression-era Virginia, the Bondurant brothers, Forrest, Howard and Jack, run the most successful bootlegging outfit in the area. However, their business comes under threat when the local special deputy Charlie Rakes demands a cut of their profits in return for his silence about their illegal operations. As if this wasn’t bad enough, competition is moving in on the Bondurants’ territory and the local moonshine market. Now out on DVD and available from Tesco, Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke and Guy Pearce star in this gritty gangster thriller alongside Jessica Chastain who plays Forrest Bondurant’s love interest Maggie. Trouble is never far away as the brothers get involved in a violent struggle with Rakes in this adaptation of the book The Wettest Country in the World by Matt Bondurant.
