Tim Burton is not one to forget about old dreams. It was 1984 when he first created Frankenweenie, a short film now forgotten by most. Almost 3 decades later, he decided to bring back this minor work and turn it into one of his best animated efforts to date. Working his magic in black-and-white 3D, Burton tells us the story of young Victor, whose dog, Sparky, died prematurely. After discovering the effects of electricity on dead animals, Victor manages to bring Sparky back to life and follows him through a series of unreal, shambolic adventures in pure Burton style. Nominated for ‘Best Animated Film’ at the 2013 BAFTAs, Frankenweenie is now available from Tesco.
