Grab a trowel and dig to see what you can find in DIG’s specially designed excavation pits. Understand how these finds explain how people lived in Roman, Viking, Medieval and Victorian times.
What you get
Grab a trowel and enter DIG, the archaeological adventure. You will investigate replicas of some of the most important digs in York and reveal some of the most significant finds that have changed the way we think about life in Roman, Viking, Medieval and Victorian times.
What tells us that the Roman Soldiers were keen gamblers? What grave goods can be found with the monk buried on the Fishergate site? All will be revealed under the rubber gravel at DIG.
As you continue through DIG you will learn how archaeologists analyse the information they find on site, how finds are recorded, and what dirt and bugs would be found in a typical Victorian house.
When you finish your archaeological training you will then see how all of the information is put together in a 3D audiovisual tour of what life would have been like in the periods that you have investigated.

How it works

• Tokens may be used against standard admission, but cannot be used for special events and/or shows, group bookings, season tickets or annual memberships.
• A tokens is not a pre-booked ticket.
• Tokens cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, scheme or promotion.
• Your token(s) should arrive within 5 working days.
• Orders should be made at least 28 days before you intend to book with a supplier or visit a partner.
• Tokens are valid for 6 months from issue.
•You must exchange your Clubcard vouchers for tokens, Clubcard vouchers will not be accepted by the supplier.
•Tokens are not transferable and will be issued with the name shown on your Clubcard vouchers and may be printed with your postcode.

• Unused, expired and redeemed tokens issued after 13th August 2012 cannot be refunded, exchanged or returned. This does not affect your statutory rights.
