After reading some of the reviews I was a bit apprehensive about using Tesco clubcard vouchers but I thought I would give the restaurant a try as my husband and I like Indian food and the reviews on the food were positive. We had a lovely meal and the staff were very pleasant. I would recommend to go if you are in York it's definately worth a visit. I would go back when I'm next in York

It was one of our best Indian meals, in that we had 4 separate main dishes (there were 4 of us) and it was great to see that they all looked different; and indeed tasted quite unique. For us, so often Indian mains are rather similar, even if described quite widely apart! The flavours were quite intriguing and as such very enjoyable. Not so enthused by the breads which were only 'OK'. But staff were very pleasant (OK, yes, we too got the routine 'no prawns' included...). But that didn't affect us anyway though it's a puzzle that if you buy, say, £80 of food with £60 of vouchers and make up the balance with cash, then why oh why could you not have a prawn dish?! Rather odd... Anyway, we so enjoyed it we are revisiting in May.

  • No King Prawns !!!
    By 12 January 2015aged 55 to 64Male

Visited on 2nd January 2015. We were early , in fact there was nobody else in the restaurant. The staff were very polite and we asked if we could use our Tesco vouchers. The waiter, after checking our paperwork said we could use them, however he said we couldn't use them for any of the meals, or starters, that had King Prawns. The food we chose (no king prawns) was very nice, in fact one of the best ever. Just a shame we felt like 2nd class citizens for using our voucher codes. What's the point of the restaurant signing up to Tesco deals if you are going to put restrictions of what food the customer is allowed to order.

  • Disappointed
    By Rene22312 December 2014aged 55 to 64Female

We booked a table for two on Thursday 27th November thinking that it might be busy - it wasn't. After being seated and after ordering our drinks we were really disappointed to be told that since we were using Tesco Clubcard Vouchers any king prawn starter came with a £5 surcharge and any king prawn main course came with an £8 surcharge! Needless to say we didn't order any king prawn courses even though we had previously decided on them. After asking for an explanation we were told by the waiter that it was not economical for them to serve king prawns to people using Clubcard Vouchers! How can this be? Anyway, this made us feel like second class customers so we will not be returning to this restaurant. Such a pity because we have used Clubcard Vouchers for other restaurants in the past without restriction of menu choice.
