- Great Pizza Express at Victoria Square BelfastBy Charisse30 November 2013aged 35 to 44Female
We have always spent our vouchers at Pizza Express and our choice is always at Victoria Square Belfast. The place is buzzing and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We went two nights in a row to use up nearly expired tokens and each night's experience was good. Their Romana pizzas (especially the Christmas special Porchetta) are delish and dough balls starters are a real treat. The service is great so we don't mind giving a gracious tip. We're looking forward to our next visit.Date used : 30/11/2013

I have been to the Darlington Pizza Express and used vouchers a few times now. The staff are always friendly and helpful but I went with my daughter yesterday and the menu had changed so our favourite spicy pasta dish was not on there - not a problem they made it for us anyway! Thank you Darlington :-)Date used : 27/11/2013
- best way to spend my vouchersBy aje201028 November 2013aged 35 to 44Male
I've visited many different Pizza Express restaurants with family and found the staff in each one most helpful. I always show them my vouchers as I am often accompanied by my wife and three children so making a part payment (of fully with vouchers) is always that more pleasant. Also I am able to tip the staff better for giving us an excellent serviceDate used : 22/10/2013

I exchange my clubcard vouchers for Pizza Express tokens all the time. It's such a great way of treating the kids! The drinks in the restaurant can't be bought with the clubcard vouchers and can be quite expensive. The quality of the food and the service more than make up for this! I have used these countless times in Wrexham, the Pizza Express on the Albert Dock in Liverpool and the Pizza Express in Liverpool One. Best service has always been Wrexham, followed by Albert Dock. Never had a problem with food and also have used for my daughter's party meal.Date used : 01/10/2013

We have used the vouchers in Edinburgh at the branch in Haymarket, the one on North Bridge, the one in Ocean Terminal and the one in Leith Waterfront - all excellent. The service has always been good and the food excellent - plus it makes it a nice cheap day out as we eat for free and (as we are both pensioners) we travel free too. I only started using my clubcard vouchers for the boost/rewards last year and now I make sure I get the best value from them - after all, £10 in vouchers gets us a £40 meal!!Date used : 27/10/2013
- Newquay sign in window No to Clubcard VouchersBy Mark4506 November 2013aged 45 to 54Male
We went to a normal Pizza Express when we stayed in Cornwall nothing fancy in Newquay and sat down ordered a meal wife and son to be told they don't accept Clubcard Vouchers I though it was just some of the London venues not Newquay they said they put a sign in the window we looked and found a small handwritten A5 sign in the corner. Very unfair and disappointing......beware not all Pizza Express accept clubcard vouchers.Date used : 20/09/2011

We almost always choose Pizza Express vouchers using the Clubcard scheme. We know that the standard will always live up to expectations and that there will be a Pizza Express even if we happen to be away from our local favourite branch in Enfield. The staff know us there and make us feel special when welcomed and treated so warmly. This will be the place our children will remember us having spent many a happy evening when they grow up.

- Pizza Express traditionBy Mlissa02 November 2013aged 35 to 44Female
5 years ago we decided to pop into Maidstone Pizza Express after finishing our Christmas shopping. We sat downstairs very comfortably. The staff were fabulous! Food amazing! We used tokens that day because otherwise we would not be able to afford it with there being 2 adults and 5 children in our family. We had such a great time that we decided to do the same every year. Unfortunately the following year we were without a car so couldn't return to Maidstone so instead went to Ashford. That year a block was put on the tokens saying we couldn't use them between certain dates. I contacted the Manager of the Ashford branch and he agreed that we could still go. We had another great meal and have continued to over the last few years. Both restaurants are fantastic!Date used : 24/12/2012

Had fab family meal in Torquay staff were great with the kids letting them watch the pizzas being made spinning the dough etc. staff were friendly and professional. Food was fresh and came out piping hot. Kids menu was great value 6.50 for 4 courses the adult menus were pricey but with the vouchers worked out ok. Just remember you are paying restaurant prices for the drinks ie wine we had was 20.00 we used £80 of vouchers and the bill was £117 for 4 adults 3kids. Would recommend booking as when we left they were turning people away.Date used : 31/10/2013

- really love theseBy 21 October 2013aged 35 to 44Female
There is no way that we would visit pizza express as a family without these codes. Usually at Colchester or Bury st Edmunds. 1. Check they are accepted-preferably in advance, easily done . 2. You will pay for drinks, so think about it, four people (for example), two drinks each, easily over £16. 3.They don't give change, so think in tens, I will often order in batches so that I do get some £10 codes, otherwise it's usually £20 For a quick lunch for two, ask for a jug of water and then just have a drink and a main...yummy lunch is then around £10 cash. Service can be very slow when it's busy.Date used : 18/10/2013
- Manager Refused to accept VouchersBy Smiley19 October 2013aged 35 to 44Male
At the point of payment the waiter fetched the manager over. He explained that Tesco had changed the policy and the vouchers could not be used on the Piccolo set menu. This was fair enough, but as we had ordered several meals from the normal menu, which exceeded the value of the voucher, I could not really see the problem. The Manager claimed that because an item in our bill had been ordered from the Piccolo menu it meant that the voucher could not be used at all. I don't think that is how the T+C's are written but in the end we had to pay cash. We still have vouchers which it seems can only be used if we leave our child at home, regardless of how much the adults spend. Very poor.Date used : 19/10/2013

I have used these vouchers over multiple Pizza Expresses. I have never had a problem redeeming my evoucher from my phone in Hale, Trafford Centre or Peterbrough. I think the fact it only pays for food is made very clear so I was not annoyed at having to pay for drinks and a couple of quid extra for food not covered by the vouchers. The pizza's good, the staff are helpful when dealing the vouchers and it's my favourite way to spend my clubcard vouchers.Date used : 10/09/2013

I've used clubcard vouchers for Pizza Express loads of times and the new emailed codes mean it's even more convenient. - very restrictedBy 08 October 2013aged 45 to 54Male
The restrictions on these coupons are great. For instance, they cannot be used to purchase the Piccolo menu, nor for any drinks (including coke), and they have to be used in units of at least £10 with no change. This means that you cannot in any way expect to go to Pizza Express with these coupons and leave without paying a reasonable sized bill in addition to using the coupons. Pizza Express would probably be willing to give these coupons away.Date used : 01/09/2013

- Lack Of Attention To DetailBy Skipper01 September 2013aged 45 to 54Male
Visited our local branch in Luton after deciding to use our vouchers for a meal before going onto see a film . Was surprised that on arriving and explaining we had a booked a table nothing was said , despite being advised by blurb on website about booking in advance . Shown to table , not offered drinks menu , so ordered drinks , looked at food menu and chose food to value of voucher and explained we wanted all food served at the same time. Very short time after the first starter arrived , explained again that all food was requested to be served together ( sigh) . Starter taken away , short while later , all food arrives and despite there being clearly two of us , waitress only brings one dining plate ! Second plate requested , waitress states she thought one of us could use the very large plate pizza came on ( hmm really ) . Stated a second dining plate was required ( just how hard is that to understand with a table for two ? ) ,plate brought over, finally able to start meal, pizza was good but could have been a lot warmer considering it was just served . Ask for bill , leave money with more then enough to cover drinks, waitress assumes she is entitled to change as a tip by making a blatant assumption she was getting one . Stated change was required back , left tip according to the service we received. Can I suggest basic training and etiquette is carried out before staff are let loose on the public !Date used : 28/08/2013

There appear to be an increasing number of Pizza Express restaurants who do not accept Club Card rewards. They do not tell you this however when you book and you can’t see if they do or not via the website. I add to my list one of my favourites Pizza Express in the Strand. It’s worth checking when booking to avoid the embarrassment when you arrive or worse still go to pay the bill!Date used : 28/08/2013
- Cobham branch. Efficient & just what we needed.By mumto229 August 2013aged 45 to 54Female
Booked two tables (for 4 & 2) as tea after a day out for my 11 year old son & 3 friends. Menus & food arrived quickly with the waitress doing a good job of co-ordinating the two separate tables with drinks & mains. The boys got their desserts well before ours which meant we had to rush a bit more than I would have liked at the end in order to remove them before disruption set in and coffee was nowhere near hot enough. Atmosphere not great at Cobham branch but these minor gripes aside, it was just what we needed and expected - its a pizza chain after all and you're not paying full price. No problem at all about voucher codes, waitress even commented how using vouchers helps the budget. Left feeling we'd had a real bargain & had been able to provide my son with a event to remember. Will definitely return to Pizza Express but maybe not this branch.Date used : 28/08/2013
- Food Good - Service Not So GoodBy Afterburner28 August 2013aged 45 to 54Male
Not really a pizza eater as I have an intolerance to cheese however went to the Barbican Leisure in Plymouth. The good - they made a pizza without cheese and it was very nice. My family also had good pizzas. The place was clean if not a bit clinical in appearance and up to having completed the main course would have gone again. The not so good - service or more to the point lack of. There must have been six or seven tables occupied so the place was less than half full. There were two waiters/waitresses, one or two in the kitchen and one other in jeans who was presumably the manager. Once the main course arrived we had no revisit by any staff to check if everything was ok as is normal practice in restaurants, we had to call for a desert menu which eventually arrived. having made our choice we exhausted our drinks waiting for the staff to return to our table. Having waited some time longer with no drinks and no foods on the table, we decided to leave and get our deserts elsewhere. Bottom line - would we eat at Pizza Express again, judging by some other positive reviews, yes but sadly not at this branch unless we have an evening to kill.Date used : 27/08/2013

Had a very enjoyable time at Pizza Express Market Harborough. The service was excellent and the food arrived promptly and was hot and very tasty. I had the new superfood salad with added chicken and it looked so good my children wanted to eat it - and it tasted even better! The children were well fed with their choices from the new Piccolo menu and loved finishing their meals off with lovely frothy Bambinoccinos. - Not very impressedBy cakebaker18 August 2013aged 35 to 44Female
We got the vouchers to use at the Market Harborough restaurant as we had good reviews from family about it but we were disappointed with it. The starter was wrong when it arrived so was sent back and took another 10 mins to arrive. Then the mains arrived with an apology from the manager as our side order had been given to another table by mistake! So we had to wait for new ones to arrive again. (The manager did take them off the bill) The pizza was lovely but the lasagne wasn't anything special and tasted like a shop bought one. We didn't have a dessert but our little one did and when it arrived the spoon accompanying it was very dirty and I had to ask for another 'clean' one. The waitress that served us was friendly but she messed up our order(s) and at least 1 other table that was sat near to us. This was on a quiet Sunday afternoon. We had £30 in vouchers and still had to pay £9 on top of it so not a cheap and cheerful meal. I don't think we'd use it again.Date used : 18/08/2013

I've bought these vouchers a number of times, and have always been happy with them. I have only been used them in my local (Carlisle) Pizza Express restaurant; but they are have always worked. Very big fan of Pizza Express but have twice confused voucher codes handed over to staff. On the first occasion a code was crossed off by the restaurant in error, so when I went to another location a few months later I tried to use an invalid code. Just last week I had the same problem again when one of two codes had been used by a previous restaurant. This amounts to my fault, so I advise people to keep track of their codes and only give the staff the codes on an individual basis instead of the list you are issued in your Tesco email!Date used : 10/08/2013

Normally such a great deal and experience but left disappointed and embarrassed due to exclusions at the Inverness pizza express that can be found in the depths of the small print but not included in the exclusions part of the voucher. All the manager did was blame Tesco but left a bitter taste in the mouth and unfortunately spoilt our evening. We have used Pizza Express on many occasions with Tesco Clubcard vouchers and always appreciated excellent service and great quality food. In many years of voucher use, we have never previously been aware of summer holiday exclusions and we were therefore disappointed on arrival at Pizza Express Newquay to discover that Clubcard vouchers were not being accepted during the school holiday. Although this information is available in the full T&Cs online, we would have appreciated receiving it in an email with our voucher codes. We will be checking the Clubcard T&Cs much more carefully in future, to avoid similar disappointments.Date used : 31/07/2013

Just to say that the exact same thing happen to us as the previous reviewer. It happen to us on the 24th july and we were left with a £70 bill to pay. The staff said this had already happened to several other people before us and I advised them to make it more clear that they were not accepting the vouchers. Obviously they have not done so because the same has happened again. I have also contacted Tesco as st ives wasn't mentioned on the exclusions list that I printed off that came with the vouchers. - Poor experience this timeBy JoanneG30 July 2013
I've always been really pleased with the Pizza Express deal but sadly not impressed this time. The vouchers were not valid during some weeks of the summer holidays at the St Ives branch and so we couldn't use them at all. This wasn't stated at all on the vouchers. Looking through the Fine Print, it wasn't there either. Clicking on the full T&C link did finally show the restrictions. I appreciate the information is there but having nothing at all included on the vouchers did seem misleading and the staff member didn't really know how to handle it. The service generally was poor. We just paid with cash to avoid lengthy discussions.

Used coupons with Pizza Express for the first time and it was excellent value for money and so easy to use. Codes were delivered in around 30 minutes. I always worry that when using coupons you get treated differently but this was certainly not the case. I checked with the waiter before ordering that it was okay to use them and ordered. He took the codes from my email at the end and deducted them from my bill, producing a new and very much improved bill. You also get an email confirming that the coupons have been used. - No Longer Accepting Tokens On Children's Meals!!!By Jeff05 July 2013aged 35 to 44Male
After using Tesco vouchers in Pizza Express for the last few years for family treats with our children, it would now appear that Tesco vouchers are no longer welcome to pay for children's meals from the Piccolo Menu! And unfortunately we only discovered this when paying the bill this evening after a meal to celebrate my daughter's birthday! We used Tesco vouchers for a meal on Father's Day and they were being accepted then, so when was the change? More importantly, why?? I believe this is a terrible decision, as surely these vouchers are mainly used by families?Date used : 05/07/2013

The food is always great at Pizza Express, Service is good too. However, using the Tesco Vouchers was disappointing. On one visit to Pizza Express using our Tesco Vouchers the waitress managed to use more vouchers than the meal cost and more than she crossed off the voucher list! I will certainly check much more carefully so as not to spoil our experience next time.
- Great serviceBy Jackie161122 June 2013aged 55 to 64Female
This was the first time we'd used CC points in a restaurant. Exchanging the points couldn't have been easier. Although Pizza express was our only choice, we weren't disappointed. The Shrewsbury restaurant was spotless. The staff were knowledgeable, polite and not over attentive, which can be annoying. The food and service were first class.Date used : 31/05/2013

Good atmosphere and tasty food. A fair selection to choose from, that I think will satisfy pizza lovers, and excelent desserts. Service could be a little better as we were kept waiting at times, but overall I would recommend Pizza Express.Date used : 29/05/2013

This has to be one of thes best exchanges with Tesco Clubcard. Receiving the voucher code by email is quick and easy. It also saves carrying around pieces of paper! It would be good if the codes could be sent to mobile phones? Pizza Express good as ever and the vouchers make eating out affordable. Can recommend. It's also good to book a table through Pizza Express online booking form!Date used : 21/06/2013

All my grandchildren chose Pizza Express for their Birthday family meals. The welcome is always warm, the order comes swiftly and - of course - is very tasty. It is not a chore for the adults to accommodate the youngsters' choice. The varied menu and the staff's recommendation lets us to have a good culinary ex[erience aswell. Myself, I do go there even on my own, but I do not feel alone!Date used : 20/06/2013

We have always enjoyed eating out as a family at Pizza Express however even more so since Clubcard voucher exchange! We get consistently great service and food at our local Chichester restaurant and the children get the same options as the adults...a pleasant change.

- Sorry but not so goodBy Jeanie21 June 2013aged 55 to 64Female
Well the voucher deal is great and I see majority of other reviews good so perhaps it was the branch we visited. Went to the one at Stratford East attached to the Picturehouse. The waitress that took our order didn't write it down which I think is where things began to go wrong and started everything off on a bad footing. So wrong food delivered and confusion reigned. Staff responded promptly and with a smile but I felt I was being a difficult customer. I think this because order wasn't written down so fact I am a veggi and not keen on dressings wasn't reflected in the order we received. Food okay when we got it though and wine good!Date used : 13/06/2013

We always use this exchange deal for our clubcard points. It has got to be the best of the rewards. We love Pizza Express and have eaten in loads of their restaurants and never had a bad meal. The menu changes regularly so there is always something new to try. Valentine Warners pizzas last year where fantastic! Wish they would come back.....Date used : 09/06/2013

I take the grandchildren to Pizza Express in school holidays when they sleepover for 2 nights. They love it but the service is desparately slow. I agree with the gluten free pizza comment - they are very poor, GF pasta would be a better option(my husband is wheat free). The new risotto starter is delicious, why not a main course, I always have melanzane parmagiano as I don't eat pizza.Date used : 22/05/2013

Excellent ! Really good to make a day out in London a cheaper option, or just to have an opportune meal out. Colchester pizza express has given us many a good meal, but we have not been so impressed by Cambridge.

- Chelmsford Branch - AwfulBy ChurlyB19 June 2013aged 35 to 44Female
Usually I use my Tesco vouchers at the Braintree branch (which is always excellent), however on this occasion I used them at the Chelmsford Branch. It was awful, had to wait ages for our food, the food was cold, the pizza had the wrong toppings on. All of this was explained to our waiter who just shrugged and smiled and said they were busy. We didn't even stay for the children's desserts as by this time they had had enough as well. It was an awful meal, which is such as shame as the Tesco vouchers is such a good deal.Date used : 29/05/2013

Big improvement on emailing codes instead of posting tokens. It means you can make spur of the moment decisions. Not so impressed with the food though. Would go again because of Tesco vouchers rather than amazing pizzas.

Pizza Express is always a great dining experience. The service is quick but you never feel rushed which is really important when you have young children who can't wait long for food. The food is always cooked fresh and to a high standard and there is a good selection for the whole family, so everyone is catered for. The staff are always courteous and don't make a big fuss when you are paying your bill with Tesco vouchers/codes. We visit Pizza Express in Meadowhall and St Paul's Parade in Sheffield regularly and the food and service is always excellent.Date used : 01/06/2013

Brilliant offer. Can't beat pizza Express. Great choice, atmosphere, wine. Waitress very patient with friend and I who hadn't seen each other for ages and so took 45 mins to order! We were there for 4 hours. Can't remember which pizza I had as pick a new one every time but lovely anyway. I am a regular customer. practically everyone that night seemed to be paying with vouchers of some sort! Probably why it was packed on a TuesdayDate used : 10/02/2013

- Gluten Free Pizzas are horrible!!By Wheatfreegirl18 June 2013aged 35 to 44Female
Have been using my Tesco vouchers for Pizza Express for a few years now and was very excited to learn that they now do Gluten Free Pizza's so at long last I can leave the salad well behind me so I cashed in some vouchers and off we went. However i was very disapointed; they are dry, tastless and i nearly broke my tooth (in pain for days). Simply horrible. The Gluten free chocolate brownie was very cold so this made it hard to cut into. All in all very disapointing. Tesco sell great gluten free pizzas so you would think a company like Pizza express could do a good product. Service however was quick and the resturant was clean. Everyone else in my party said the food was ok but did not taste anything special. Think I will try other Tesco voucher resturants in the future.Date used : 23/05/2013

We really enjoy going to Pizza Express twice a year with our vouchers. As a family of 5 it's too expensive for us to eat out without them so it's always a real treat. The food is delicious and the service very prompt and friendly. Child friendly and clean too, providing crayons and paper whilst you wait. All in all very pleased, thankyou!Date used : 15/06/2013
- Hopefully just a one offBy Chouchou17 June 2013aged 35 to 44Female
Gloucester, Booked a table for 6pm. When we arrived, waitress told us the table was not ready, so had to wait with our little children at least 10minutes. Ordered the food at about 6.20. Then a very long wait started, had to ask for pens (that were on show for children) to keep children entertained, even take them out to see the boats. Food arrived 1hour and 15 minutes later despite requests to the waitress who was very apologetic. Food was ok, but by the time we got it, we could not enjoy it. we ate in less than 20minutes, paid and left. We will not return, even though it may not be the usual experience at Pizza Express, my seven year old was the most disappointed as she chose the place for her birthday treat.Date used : 13/06/2013

Quality of the food is excellent. This is a real step up from some of the other pizza places and is great for families with teenagers when you want a little more from the restaurant but don't want to pay more than necessary. Love pizza express as a great family restaurant. We have eaten at Cirencester, Reading and Henley and have always had good, quick service with good quality food and great choices for the children (inc colouring bits for them to do while they wait and more recently 'mystery seed pack'- can't wait to find out what grows). The deals offer great value for money and the opportunity for me not to have to cook!Date used : 14/06/2013
