Probably the world's most famous zoo, ZSL London Zoo has been entertaining and delighting visitors since it opened to the public in 1847.

With over 720 animal species, exciting and innovative new exhibits and heritage-listed building almost as famous as their inhabitants, it is a great day out.

Come and see animals in a different light at Rainforest Life, immerse yourselves in the African Forest when visiting Gorilla Kingdom and hit the beach by taking a trip to Penguin Beach. Penguin Beach is the Zoo’s exciting new exhibit and recreates a South-American beach landscape in the heart of London, with stunning colonies of Humboldt and Macaroni penguins.

The exhibit features a larger pool with underwater viewing areas so that you can see how our flippered friends "fly" under the waves. A larger demonstration area turns feeding time into an even bigger spectacle than before!

Come within a whisker of nature’s most breathtaking predator

For the first time ever, visitors will be able to explore the lush world of the Sumatran tiger in the heart of London. Through immersive and interactive experiences Tiger Territory takes you closer than ever to the natural environment of one of nature’s most awesome predators. Wide windows with lush foliage bring you right into the heart of the tigers’ domain. Separated by a single pane of glass you will watch… and be watched.

But there is more in store! Head down to the beach and watch London’s largest colony of Humboldt Penguins dive, swim, frolic and feed. Move through lush forested pathways and come face to face with the majestic Western Lowland Gorilla and wander from day through to night in London’s only living rainforest among many others.

Get ready for action! Daily events take place on site for visitors, including a selection of keeper talks, animal feeds and animal demonstrations. Come face to face with a whole host of animals at the Amphitheatre with Animal in Action or watch our penguins feed in England’s biggest penguin pool with Penguin Beach Live! Feeling brave? Make your way down to the display lawn to catch a glimpse of some amazing birds in flight with Deadly Birds.
