Dazzling displays of uniforms, weaponry and prized exhibits present a celebration and history of the British Army’s Senior Regiment, which also has the unique role of mounted bodyguard to Her Majesty The Queen.
Multimedia and touchscreen presentations provide fascinating information about all aspects of the daily duties of the troopers and their horses.
Visitors can see troopers at work in the stables (through a large glazed partition) preparing for sentry duty and can even try on parts of the uniform.
An experience with something for everyone to enjoy along with the hourly sentry changes outside presenting colourful, traditional and uniquely British pageantry.
Due to the Olympic Games Beach Volleyball Competition being staged on Horse Guards Parade the Household Cavalry Museum will be closed from June 18 - September 30 inclusive.

Open every day until 6pm (November–March 5pm) except 24th – 26th December and Good Friday. As this Olympic Games London 2012 Beach Volleyball Competition is being held on Horse Guards Parade the temporary closure of the Household Cavalry Museum from June 18th 2012 to September 30th 2012 has become necessary in the interests of maximising security and operational efficiency at Horse Guards to help ensure a successful event. Last ticket sold 45 minutes before closing.
