Located in the heart of Cardiff Bay, Techniquest is a hands-on science centre that offers a great day out for all the family. It hosts over 120 interactive exhibits that are designed to amuse and enthuse visitors of all ages. You can enjoy firing a rocket, racing electric cars, playing a tune on a giant piano and much, much more.
Techniquest has gained an international reputation for delivering a unique programme of enthralling special events. The science theatre hosts a continually changing programme of live shows where the audience are encouraged to get involved and come away with loads of fun facts from the wonderful world around us. Programmes change every two months so be sure to look on the website to see what's on.
Visitors interested in the universe and beyond will be treaded to a cloudless and unpolluted view of the sky at night in Techniquest's Planetarium. Fascinating audio-visual presentations allow the audience to explore the solar system and enjoy a unique perspective on the mysteries and magnitude of space. Techniquest's Planetarium is one of a few found in Britain that is hosted live by a presenter, which offers visitors the perfect environment to ask questions and find out more about the secrets of space.
Techniquest also offers a comprehensive education programme for early years, KS1 through KS4 and AS/A2 level. Shows and workshops have been specially designed to link with the National Curriculum.

This place helps answer those questions the children ask you, which you just can't answer! There's so much hands-on fun for children (and adults) of all ages. It's really interesting to find out 'the sciencey stuff', but even if the children are too small to understand, they'll still have loads of fun, because everything is a game. There's a giant floor piano which you play with your feet. You can launch a hot air balloon. There's water play. Nice cafe and shop too!
