What you get

Cessna Skyhawk 30 Minute Flight Experience

Fly the latest Cessna 172 with Goodwood!

Take to the skies with one of Goodwood’s own Flying Instructors and enjoy stunning views of the Sussex countryside and South Coast, whilst you actually take the controls and fly the aircraft yourself. This is a unique chance to enjoy the thrill of a 30 minute experience in a light aircraft. You can even have a passenger fly with you.

Flight Briefing

Before the flight you will receive a briefing in the classroom, from your Instructor. You will then make your way to the aircraft, and once in the cockpit, you will be shown the basic instruments and flight controls.

Take to the Skies

After start up, Goodwood Air Traffic Control will give take-off clearance and the aircraft will accelerate down the runway and lift into the sky. There are few experiences to match the thrill of flight in a small aircraft.

Now it’s your turn

You will be shown how to fly straight and level, how to turn and descend, and as you take control yourself you will feel the aircraft respond. On the return to Goodwood you will experience a gradual descent landing safely onto the grass runway.

Please be aware that this experience is weather-dependent. On the morning of the flight, please ring the Flying School on 01243 755066 to check that the flight can go ahead.

Flying a plane has always been a dream of mine so when I saw this on the Tesco Rewards website I just had to book it. I was a little nervous on the day but the instructor was brilliant and I was soon geared up and ready to go. The take off was a little bumpy but once we were up in the air it was amazing. Taking control of the plane was thrilling and I was soon turning left and right like a pro. 30 minutes just didn't seem long enough and I will be saving up for another go very soon.
