What is the DVD and Blu-ray offer with the online movie at blinkbox?

Exclusive to Clubcard customers, when you buy selected DVDs or Blu-rays from Tesco, the movie is also yours to watch online at blinkbox. We give you the rights to the digital movie which is stored in your online blinkbox video library so you can watch the movie when you like, how you like, as many times as you like - all included in the standard price of your DVD or Blu-ray. This offer is available from Friday 2nd December 2011

How do I know which titles and formats are included?

This offer is available on selected new release titles and formats, but the range of titles eligible is ever-growing. If you are browsing DVDs and Blu-rays in-store, look out for the circular blinkbox sticker on the front on the product which indicates that the film includes the online movie at blinkbox. If you are browsing DVDs and Blu-rays online, look out for the blinkbox logo beside the product information on the product list pages and product pages.

Please note, for some titles, only certain formats will include the online movie at blinkbox. See our current list of eligible titles and formats.

If I buy the box set, will I also get the online movie for certain titles included in the box set?

No, this is currently unavailable for box set products.

Is this offer exclusive to Clubcard customers only?

Yes it is. In order to qualify for the online movie at blinkbox, you must scan a valid Clubcard at checkout or use a valid Clubcard against your online account when ordering an eligible DVD or Blu-ray.

What if I don't have a Clubcard?

It take's just a few minutes to sign up for Clubcard and start benefiting from this offer right away - simply register your details on our Clubcard website and we'll send you a Clubcard number in your welcome email which you can use to buy DVDs or Blu-rays online. We'll send your Clubcard and key fobs in the post.

How does the offer work if I buy a DVD or Blu-ray in-store?

  1. Browse our range of eligible DVDs or Blu-rays in-store (look out for the blinkbox sticker on front of the DVD).
  2. Scan your Clubcard at the checkout when buying your DVD or Blu-ray.
  3. Visit blinkbox.com to register your Clubcard to a new or existing blinkbox account. Remember to register the Clubcard you scanned at the in-store checkout - you can register more than one Clubcard to one blinkbox account.
  4. The online movie will automatically appear in your blinkbox video library within a few hours.
  5. Watch your online movie when you like, as many times as you like on your PC, games console, tablet and Smart TV.
  6. You only have to register your Clubcard once and then the online movie for all eligible DVDs and Blu-rays that you buy with that Clubcard will automatically appear in your blinkbox video library.

How does the offer work if I buy a DVD or Blu-ray online?

You can buy DVDs and Blu-rays from the Entertainment website and the Grocery website

Buying from the Entertainment website

  1. Browse our range of eligible DVDs or Blu-rays on the Entertainment website (look out for the blinkbox logo by the product image).
  2. Register your Clubcard to your Entertainment Online account before you checkout when buying your DVD or Blu-ray (you will be prompted through checkout for this).
  3. Visit blinkbox.com to register your Clubcard to a new or existing blinkbox account. Remember to register the Clubcard which is held on your Entertainment Online account - you can register more than one Clubcard to one blinkbox account.
  4. The online movie will appear in your blinkbox video library shortly after receiving your order confirmation email*.
  5. Watch your online movie when you like, as many times as you like, by streaming or downloading to your PC, games console, tablet and Smart TV.
  6. You only have to register your Clubcard once and then the online movie for all eligible DVDs and Blu-rays that you buy with that Clubcard will automatically appear in your blinkbox video library.

* Only for "out now" titles. The online movie for pre-order titles will not be available in your online blinkbox video library until the release date of the film.

Buying from the Grocery website

  1. Browse our range of eligible DVDs or Blu-rays on the Grocery website under the Home & Ents category (look out for the blinkbox logo by the product image).
  2. Before you checkout, make sure that the Clubcard associated to your Tesco.com account is the Clubcard that you want to register to your blinkbox account.
  3. Visit blinkbox.com to register your Clubcard to a new or existing blinkbox account. Remember to register the Clubcard which is held on your Tesco.com account - you can register more than one Clubcard to one blinkbox account.
  4. The online movie will appear in your blinkbox video library within a few hours of your grocery delivery being picked. This is because we need confirmation that you order is being shipped before we can add this to your blinkbox video library.
  5. Watch your online movie when you like, as many times as you like, by streaming or downloading via your PC, games console, tablet and Smart TV.
  6. You only have to register your Clubcard once and then the online movie for all eligible DVDs and Blu-rays that you buy with that Clubcard will automatically appear in your blinkbox video library.

When will the online movie appear in my blinkbox video library?

This will vary depending on whether you have bought an "out-now" title or a "pre-order" title, and depending on where you bought the DVD or Blu-ray from.

Providing you have registered the Clubcard you scanned in-store or at the online checkout to a blinkbox account:

-  "out now" titles bought in-store will be available within a few hours.

-  "out now" titles bought on the Entertainment website will be available shortly after receiving you order confirmation email.

-  "out now" titles bought on the Grocery website will be available within a few hours of your grocery order being picked.

For "pre-order" titles bought on the Entertainment website, providing you have registered the Clubcard you used at the online checkout to a blinkbox account, they will be available in your blinkbox video library on the release date of the film.

What rights do I get to the online movie?

You will initially be provided with 'rent' rights to the movie. These will automatically be upgraded to 'own' rights after 7 days subject to the Returns policy. Please refer the Returns & Cancellation Policy section for more details.

Do I need to have a blinkbox account?

Yes, you will need to have a blinkbox account to watch the movie online. You can set this up after you have bought your DVD or Blu-ray, but it's better to do this beforehand to get your movie quicker. You will need to make sure that the Clubcard that you add to you blinkbox account is the one you scanned at checkout or have registered to your Entertainment Online account or Tesco.com account (depending on where you purchased).

You only have to register your Clubcard once and then the online movie for all eligible DVDs and Blu-rays that you buy with that Clubcard will automatically appear in your blinkbox video library.

If you already have a blinkbox account, then you will need to edit your blinkbox account details to add your Clubcard. You can do this on the blinkbox website

Please note, a Clubcard can only be linked to one blinkbox account. However, you can register more than one Clubcard to one blinkbox account.

If I buy multiple copies of the same DVD or Blu-ray, will I get multiple copies of the online movie at blinkbox?

No. The online movie will only appear once in your blinkbox video library but you will be able to watch it as many times as you like.

Will I get charged when I watch my included online movie at blinkbox?

No, you won't be charged for watching the movie online unless you then return the DVD or Blu-ray - please refer the Returns & Cancellation Policy section for more details.

The online movie is yours to watch as many times as you want.

What if I buy a DVD, download the movie from blinkbox.com and later return the DVD?

If you decide to return your DVD or Blu-ray, but have already watched the online movie at blinkbox, the online movie will be removed from your blinkbox video library. We reserve the right to charge you for watching the online movie if you then choose to return the DVD or Blu-ray.

Since I already have the DVD, can I gift the online movie at blinkbox to someone else?

No, you cannot gift anyone the blinkbox online version of the movie - it's just for you.

If I rent or buy a movie from blinkbox and then buy the DVD or Blu-ray from Tesco will I get a discount?

No. You must buy the DVD or Blu-ray at Tesco first. You will then get the rights to the online movie at blinkbox included in the price you pay for your DVD or Blu-ray for titles that are eligible for this offer at the point of purchasing the DVD or Blu-ray.

When does this offer end?

This is an on-going offer but some titles may only be included for a short period of time, subject to licensing restrictions imposed by the film studios. Customers have 365 days from the date of purchase to redeem their online movie. If a movie has been removed from the offer the customer will no longer be able to obtain their online movie at blinkbox if they have not already added it to their blinkbox video library.

How does this differ to a Blu-ray which includes the digital copy on a disc?

Some Blu-rays come with a digital copy on a disc or supplied by a download partner. This is not standardised across all films and customers are restricted to the device which it is downloaded to. blinkbox offers a service where customers can access their online video library wherever there is an internet connection, on multiple devices.

I purchased an eligible title on DVD or Blu-ray before this offer was launched. Will I still get the online movie at blinkbox?

We're sorry but unfortunately we are not offering this for previous DVD or Blu-ray purchases right now. It is only available for titles and formats eligible in this offer at the point of purchasing the DVD or Blu-ray.

Please note, if you have placed a pre-order for an eligible title through the Entertainment website, you will receive the online movie at blinkbox offer on the title release date. Titles and formats that this applies to include:

-  Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on DVD, Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray;

-  Hangover 2 on DVD and Blu-ray;

-  The Smurfs on DVD, Double Play and 3D Blu-ray;

-  The Smurfs (Limited Edition) on DVD, Double Play and 3D Blu-ray;

-  Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on DVD, Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray;

-  Final Destination 5 on DVD, Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray;

-  Conan the Barbarian on DVD and Blu-ray;

-  Battle Recon: The Call to Duty on DVD and Blu-ray.

I'd like to use a film rental service, but would prefer to have DVDs sent to me in the post? Do you offer this?

Watching your movie online at blinkbox

Where can I watch my movie online?

You will be able to watch your movie online at blinkbox by logging into your registered blinkbox account. You can download to it take it with you on the movie, or you can stream from anywhere as long as you are connected to the internet using an internet-connected device.

Can I watch it on my TV?

Yes.

The blinkbox online movie service is also already available on PC, Mac, PS3, LG and Samsung Smart TV and Samsung tablets, and soon to be on Xbox 360.

How many times will I be able to watch the movie online?

You will be given 'own' rights to the movie - this means that you will be able to watch it as many times as you like, subject to the Returns & Cancellations policy below.

Your online movie will be a 2D format in Standard Definition.

Having problems with using your Clubcard to get this offer?

To qualify for the online movie at blinkbox you need to use your Clubcard at the checkout.

It's easy to sign up for Clubcard and start benefiting from this offer - simply register your details on our Clubcard website and we'll send you a Clubcard in the post.

I forgot to use my Clubcard at checkout, can I get still get the online movie?

Please take your DVD or Blu-ray to the customer services desk in a Tesco store within 28 days of purchasing and they will be able to able to register your Clubcard for being eligible for the online movie.

If you bought your DVD or Blu-ray using the Entertainment website, you have up to 365 days from the date which you placed your order for titles eligible for the blinkbox offer to redeem your online move. It may take up to 14 days before you receive your online movie in your blinkbox video library.

I used the wrong Clubcard, can I change my movie over to another Clubcard?

No. It is not possible to do this, the online movie remains associated to the Clubcard you used at point of purchasing the DVD or Blu-ray. However, you can register more than one Clubcard to one blinkbox account.

I don't know my Clubcard number to register it to my blinkbox account. Where can I get this?

Please contact Tesco Clubcard Customer Services on 0800 591 688 and they will be able to help you with getting this.

What happens if I remove a Clubcard that I have registered to my blinkbox account?

If you remove a Clubcard which is registered to your blinkbox account, you will lose any online movies in your blinkbox video library that are associated to this Clubcard through the "Buy the DVD or Blu-ray and own the online movie at blinkbox" offer. It is not possible to retrieve these online movies to your blinkbox video library at any point.

I've lost my Clubcard, how can I get the online movie whilst I'm waiting to receive my replacement Clubcard?

If you want to place an order for your DVD or Blu-ray on the Entertainment website, you can contact Tesco Clubcard Customer Services on 0800 591 688 and they will be able to help you with getting this.

If you want to purchase your DVD or Blu-ray in-store, you must make sure that once you have received your replacement Clubcard you visit the customer services desk in-store within 28 days of having purchased the eligible DVD or Blu-ray, and they will be able to assist you.

Returns and cancellations policy for the Tesco / Blinkbox offer

As per the standard Tesco returns policy, if you change your mind within 28 days, we are happy to refund or exchange your DVD or Blu-ray product provided it is returned, as sold, with all the original packaging, tags, labels and accessories. You must have your original receipt to enable the return.

If you decide to return your DVD or Blu-ray to a store or our websites, the online movie will be removed from your blinkbox video library.

If you decide to cancel an online order and the online movie has already been available in your blinkbox video library prior to you receiving delivery of your order, the online movie will be removed from your blinkbox video library.

We reserve the right to charge you for watching the online movie if you then choose to return the DVD or Blu-ray.

Collecting Clubcard points at blinkbox

You can now collect one point for every £1 that you spend when you buy or rent movies online at blinkbox. Just visit blinkbox.com to register your Clubcard.

When can I start collecting points from?

Customers who register a valid Clubcard to a blinkbox account will be able to collect points when they buy or rent online movies at blinkbox from 2nd December 2011.

How many points can I earn?

You will earn one point for every £1 spent at blinkbox. You must spend over £1 per transaction to collect points.

When will I receive my points?

When registering a Clubcard to your blinkbox account online, you will be asked to select a "default" Clubcard. This will be the card which your Clubcard points are added to in your Clubcard statement.

Please note, we will reward any Clubcard points to the Clubcard that is marked as "default" in your blinkbox account four weeks prior to you receiving your statement. If you change your default Clubcard after the four weeks, we will not be able to reward points to the updated card until the following Clubcard statement.

How many Clubcards can I register to a blinkbox account?

You can register more than one Clubcard to one blinkbox account.

What happens if I remove a Clubcard that I have registered to my blinkbox account?

If you remove a Clubcard which is registered to your blinkbox account, you will lose any online movies in your blinkbox video library that are associated to this Clubcard through the "Buy the DVD or Blu-ray and own the online movie at blinkbox" offer.
