Cooking time: 10 minutes
Method
1 Fry the onion in the vegetable oil for about 5 minutes or until softened.
2 In a mixing bowl, combine the cooled sautéed onion together with all the other ingredients, apart from the flour. With floured hands, form the mixture into 10 burgers.
3 To barbecue, place the burgers in a hinged barbecue basket if possible. This stops them breaking up and makes them easier to turn. Cook over medium hot coals for 4 to 6 minutes each side. 4 Check to make sure they’re properly cooked through before serving in a toasted bun with salad (if your toddler will eat it!) and chips. Cut bun into quarters to make it easier for little hands to manage.
