Plum crumble with custard

Description

Sweet, crumbly and a real family favourite. This is a lovely pudding for your toddler, too.

Method

  1. Lightly grease an ovenproof dish. Sieve the flour and cinnamon into a large bowl. Rub the butter into the flour using your fingertips, until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar.
  2. Chop the plums into quarters and remove the stones. Scatter the fruit into an ovenproof dish and sprinkle over the sugar, cinnamon and the flour and mix together.
  3. Cover with the crumble topping and cook in a preheated oven (200ºC/400ºF/Gas Mark 6) for 25-30 mins until the crumble top is crisp and the fruit is bubbling around the edges of the dish. This is even tastier when served with custard, cream or natural yogurt!

  • 115g butter, chopped and chilled
  • 75g light soft brown sugar
  • 900g ripe plums
  • Light soft brown sugar (according to taste)
  • Pinch of cinnamon
