New to Android apps?

How to download the Tesco Grocery app for AndroidTM

Getting started >
  • With the new app you can add items to your basket when you're on the go, or start a new order from scratch, checking out securely on the app or later online. The updated order synchronises from phone to PC and vice versa, so it's great for adding last minute essentials.
  • Use your existing dot com grocery email and password to sign in and if you are not already registered use the link to tesco.com, or register on your computer.
Booking a delivery slot >
  • Your order will be delivered to the last address you used on the website.
  • Your chosen delivery will be reserved for 2 hours, so you've got plenty of time to do your shop.
Amend an order: >
  • You can add or remove products from your order up to 11pm the evening before your delivery is due. To find out the latest time, check your order confirmation email.
  • If you'd like to change your delivery slot or add an eCoupon you will need to do this from a PC online.
  • Don't forget to save your changes.
FAQs:
Problem with secure checkout? >
  • Secure checkout is controlled by the banks. With credit cards from certain issuing banks, it may be difficult to enter the required passcode when you get to the secure checkout screen. You may find it easier if you use the 'next' button (which appears on the top left hand side above the keyboard) to toggle to each box when you enter your passcode. If issues persist please checkout on your computer and only use your Android device to amend your order. For further help please contact our customer services team on 0845 6756999.
Why can't I use the app offline? >
  • Currently, only the Shopping List (adding and removing items) can be used offline.
I have an order due to be delivered today, but it's not showing as a pending order on the app home screen >
  • Orders due for delivery on that day will not show on the app as your grocery order has already been sent down to store for picking.
Why haven't I received an email confirmation for my delivery? >
  • It is possible that you may not have checked out, please check out via the app or online.
Why are there products I haven't bought showing in "Favourites" >
  • When we suggest products to a customer online, they normally appear in their Favourites list as a 'Why not try' product suggestion; in the app these products are displayed as normal products without a 'Why not try' label.

Why can't I see products, 'Favourites' or delivery slots on the app? >
  • Your grocery account may be set to an 'accessibility' profile. In order to make your account work with the app it needs to be displayed in 'standard' profile. It's easy to make the change as follows:
  1. Login to your grocery account on your computer at http://www.tesco.com/groceries
  2. Click on 'My Account'
  3. Scroll down and click on "Accessibility options"
  4. You will see "Use access site" next to a checkbox with a tick in it - uncheck the box
  5. Click the "Confirm" button and wait for the page that appears saying "Your changes have been successfully updated"
  6. Click "Logout" at the bottom of the screen. Your account will now be displayed in 'standard' profile

If you still have problems when this setting is changed, please call our customer service centre on 0845 6756999.

Why must I install "Barcode Scanner" to scan products? >

One app using the functionality of another app is common in Android devices. Please note that Barcode Scanner by ZXing Team is free to download from Android Market.

Why can't I use the barcode scanner? >

You will need a camera on your device to use the barcode scanner. If your device has a fixed-focused lens camera you may not be able to scan product barcodes.

Why can't the reader find the product I scanned? >
  • The reader will only find products that are sold at Tesco.
  • The scanner will only produce a result for products that are stocked in your store. As range can vary by store the scanner may not return a result.
  • The scanner may not work in areas of low/no signal.
Why can't I install the app on my device? >

Only devices running Android platform 2.0 or above will support this app. You can usually find what platform you are running in Settings\About phone. Please note that this app is not available on Android tablets.
