This is all about the dark plum fruits.
Smooth, ripe and unctuous, this wonderful Merlot is a great example of why Chilean reds have found
such a fan base around the world.
Lovely with sausages.

This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 2 years
Mar del Sur is a named after the coastline in Chile specifically in South with it's extreme temperatures.

Naturally awe-inspiring: The iconic Andes mountains stretch from the Atacama Desert in the north of Chile to the Polar regions in the south. These mountains provide natural barriers that protect our vineyards from the elements. Their crystal clear river waters feed into the valleys and provide pure and natural irrigation to the vineyards below, allowing for perfectly balanced soils and grape growing conditions. In fact, there are few better places for producing wine

I felt that the merlot was pretty average and that there are much better tasting wines around for the same price.

We had tried a single bottle of Mar del Sur because we liked Chilean wines in general. When this wine was included in the half price offers catalogue (and with free delivery!) we just had to have a case for "easy drinking " . The wine is full flavoured with a light touch. There are dark fruit notes and a kind of coffee or leather hint on the palate. It has a relatively low APV which suits us and is the kind of wine that adapts itself to almost any food or meal. We like it a lot and it never disappoints. Not a great blockbusting classic but a very pleasant tipple.

I can't remember much about this one - other than it was drinkable and inoffensive. I would recommend buying only if it was on a good offer.

I thoughly enjoyed drinking this wine. Marlot is one of my favourite wines. This was full bodied but not harsh on the palate and could be drunk on its own or with meat or pasta. I would definately purchase this wine again as its one of the nicer merlots i have tasted.

this wine is very inexpensive and yet has a wonderful flavour that reminded me so much of wines drunk in France. it is a perfect every day wine that i would highly recommend to everyone who loves a drop of red with dinner. goes with everything.
