The small quantity of Viognier grapes in this wine lifts the red- berried aromas and softens the spicy Shiraz fruit.
The result is an elegant wine with a velvety texture and a long smooth finish.

To enjoy this wine at its best, drink within 1 year of purchase.

A lovely, soft, easy drinking wine. Enough character to make it an interesting wine. We will not lay it down - why wait when it is very good now?

Fragrant Viognier evident which boosts the fruity Shiraz with a nice punch of spice

Well worth the discounted price; good with grills and casseroles or even a glass on it's own.

This must be one of the best value reds around. We were introduced to it at a Burns' Supper with some friends, a couple of whom including the host, are closer to 'experts' than we are....it was the only red we drank all night and it went down beautifully! There is a complete absence of the sharpness we have come to expect with the value Shiras wines and that pairing with the Viognier grape is a stroke of genius......we and our friends have drunk our way through several cases since and I sincerely hope you have plenty of stock as we will want more!

Have been a fan on McGigans for a long time having been to their place in the Hunter Vallet. A very mellow wine which is easy to drink after a hard day.

Not a real red wine drinker find sometimes they are too harsh. But MCGUIGAN Shiraz is one I drink and enjoy just perfect.

I bought this wine as it was on special offer, I have purchased McGuigan's Shiraz before and it was very good but this one was even better. very smooth a great wine to drink with meats and cheese. I initially bought a couple of bottles in-store and then purchased 2 cases on-line as it was still on special offer - highly recommended

Really wasn't keen on this wine. Has a really bland taste, no character. I kept it in the cupboard for use in cooking

Not a big fan of McGuigans but this is a good basic everyday offering. A bit light for my taste but still some fruit on offer and worth a punt.

We like the strong, berried Australian wines - Shiraz is a favourite grape and Viognier is a grape we seek out for red and white wines. The combination works very well here.

I have bought this wine on several occasions so that speaks for itself. The description on the bottle is spot on and not OTT. I have served this to friends and all remarked on how much they liked it. It will be bought again.

Have been buying this wine for sometime and it never disappoints especially at the reduced price, when it is hard to beat at this price. The quality of this wine you often don't find in a much more expensive wine even when bought at a non reduced price. Definately one of my favourite reds.

Have been a fan of Mcguigans for many years. Unfortunately on this occasion I have to say that this wine falls well below the usual standard of affordable quality associated with the brand. Even when you consider the discount available this wine was very disappointing.

Mcguigan has a good reputation for producing consistently good wine . My husband loves their Shiraz but I find it a bit full bodied .This delightful blend with the Viogner grape is gorgeous , just a little softer & lighter than pure Shiraz . I love it but I have now converted my husband to it (goody) so it is the one I now order.

The blend of Shiraz/voignier produces an intense rich berry fruit flavour with slight tannin overtones. there are hints of chocolate and marzipan. It;s youngness is refreshing but I am sure that forgotten in the cupboard for a couple of years, it would be something very special,

I have lot of wine from Tesco, so disappointed with this one. Smooth and 'velvety' it is not. Will be giving as much of it away as possible this Christmas. YUK.

This wine is a bit lighter than some shiraz due to the mix but still full of flavour. Would only buy when on offer.

Bought a couple of cases for a party and it went down very well. Have bought a couple of cases since. (Some labels have the award on and some do not, but appears to still be the same) Worth a try I you want something slightly lighter than the regular Auz Shiraz.

They say in life you get what you pay for and that was so true with this wime. It was in the half price sale and i paid around £4 a bottle which you can't grumble at but if it had been full price i would not have been happy. The fine was very light and not the usual full bodied that i would have expect from and australian shiraz. The wife thought it was very nice which always worries me. All i can add is that this is no WOLF BASS andi with Christmas coming up i know where the rest of my case will be going. Mould wine , school raffles etc

A a well bodied red, better drunk in the evening I've found, can't really say why but not a lunchtime tipple. Also this one does benefit from breathing a little while, I'm no wine buff as you will have been able to tell by now but I did buy rather a lot of cases at a low low price and it's only what I've noticed while enjoying this wine. So the flavour of the wine, not what you might call classic but some wonderfully soft red berry fruity flavours, not overpowering in any way, apparently Viognier grapes are usually associated with white wine but don't let that put you off! All in all, a very enjoyable red wine that won't embarrass itself, probably not worth the original asking price but definitely when it's on offer!

The hint of Viognier in this Shiraz lends a smoothness to the typical Shiraz tannin which leads to a balanced and satisfying taste.

Bought this as we had tried McGuigann wines before and liked them. This one was a little too light and we did not think velvety or smooth. The half bottle that was left was used for cooking the next day.

Terrifically smooth. An excellent combination of these two grapes. However, the spicey taste usually found in a shiraz was still noticeable.
