Thoroughly enjoyable wine. Good flavour and plenty of body with none of the unpleasant aftertaste so common with less expensive wines. I'm no expert; I just know what I like, and this is a wine that fits the bill at a reasonable price. Will definitely order again.

This is one of my favourites which, being short of money, I always buy when on special offer. A lovely smooth wine to share for a relaxing drink with friends.

This is a full bodied wine that is ideal with most meats and strong enough for flavoursome cheeses. Great consistency and quality.

Hardys is pretty much always a reliable wine, but I think at "normal" price, somewhat too expensive. You can pick up similar wines in France for 3 euros. BUT when this is on sale, it is a good deal

Hardy's produce some very consistent wines. This one is not too full bodied. A lighter option if you want a glass in the evening without food. Always a good deal.

The actual wine when I got it was good. Slightly spicy with a nice maturity. shame about the promises on delivery though. Arrived 24 hours later than promised. Just as well I hadnt relied on the delivery for a dinner party!!

I enjoyed the wine. It is a lovely rich smooth wine which goes well with food and also by it self. Some wines leave a sharp taste in the mouth, but not this one. I would buy this wine again.

This is my first taste of a Hardy's red and I have to say I am not disappointed at all! It is smooth and easy to drink but with an expensive after taste which makes you think wow, let me try another sip!! I bought this wine after having read all the reviews and because it was on offer. I will definitely be buying it again in the future.

I bought 18 bottles @ £24 a dozen having waited for this particular wine to come on offer again. Tastes lovely - not too dry, but not sweet either. Brilliant value. Will definitely buy again.

This is one of the varietal range marketed as 'uncomplicated'. It's usual price is not that low but it is Hardy's and so I suppose it is their budget range. This particular grape has received some quite vituperative attacks which I had not read before I bought. I think that it is a simple rather thin wine but eminently drinkable and it has none of the unpleasant tastes that I read of. Indeed, it is a pleasantly light but powerful (13.5%) everyday red. At the price that I paid (£3), it was a bargain.

I know this is the cheaper end of the range but 2011 vintage ABV 14% is advertised, and the too new 2012 vintage ABV 13.5% supplied, which might as well be a totally different wine. You may prefer young wines but if like me you like them to have benefitted from some maturing you may be better off selecting a different wine.

I normally drink the Hardy's Merlot but bought this at a good price and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. I would recommend this lovely red wine.

I generally buy lower-priced wines, so I'm used to budget-range plonk. Bought this on special offer in store, thinking to get something a little bit better for the Xmas period. Fortunately, I decided to try a bottle. Very disappointing - harsh and bitter, with an unpleasant aftertaste. Maybe I just got a bottle from a dodgy batch? That said, the 2009 vintage got a damning review from the Telegraph in Jan 2011, so this is not the first time the Hardys varietal range has attracted negative comments.
